1. Naina Devi Temple

To the north of the lake is the Naina Devi Temple, one of India''s venerable 64 Shaktipeeths. It was destroyed by the landslip of 1880 and later rebuilt

2. Raj Bhawan

Nainital Governor’s House (Raj Bhavan) was built in 1899 and designed in a Victorian gothic style by the architect F.W. Stevens. Built as the much envied summer residence of the governor of the North West Province, it later became the summer residence for the Lieutenant Governor of the United Provinces

3. State Observatory

A short four kilometers drive from town takes you to the Observatory on Manora Peak at the Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences, which is equipped with high-power telescopes. The observatory is devoted to astronomical studies and optical tracking of artificial and earth satellites.

4. Nainital Zoo

A perfect place for a family outing, the Zoo fascinates both kids and the grown-ups. You may get to see the snow leopard and Himalayan Black bear housed here among other animals.

5. Eco Cave Gardens

A hot favorite with children Eco Cave Gardens bring out the explorer in them. The garden, 2 km further up from Mallital consists of six caves which get narrower as you progress though there is a facility to get out after every cave. It is recommended that people who are claustrophobic should not explore the later ones especially.

 6. The Mall

The market is located in Mallital and is popular for traditional shawls, scarves, cardigans and local jams. Do check out the renowned handloom and Kumaon woolens, for their quality and warmth

7. Bara Bazaar

Bara Bazaar is also popular for candles, available in captivating colors and delightful designs that are locally produced.

8. Tibetan Market

The Tibetan market along the edge of the lake is very popular and ideal if you good at bargaining; and while shopping do try the famous momo’s here.

9. Snow View

Take the aerial ropeway to enjoy that glorious view of Nainital's lush surroundings from Snow View (7,448 ft) located atop the Sher-ka-Danda Hill. One of the most sophisticated ropeway at Nainital, this is the first of its kind in India. The ropeway covers a distance of 705 meters with an altitude gain of 300 meters

10. Naina Peak or Cheena Peak

Naina peak is the highest peak of the town , at an altitude of 2611 mts. and at a distance of 6 Kms from the town .It commands an entrancing view of sparkling snow laden Himalayas from Bandar Punch in west to Api and Nari peaks of Nepal in the east , a full Himalayan range in one side and a birds eye view of the lake city of Nainital in its full grandeur on the other
